Sunday the 23rd of November was a beautiful, warm fall day both inside and outside of Faith Lutheran
Church. 92 souls met to lift up in song and word our thanks to God for the fact that from the sod home of Toger Olson to the church now at 306 Abbot SW we arecontinuing to thrive.
The service was a testament to people of God leading others to the Love of Jesus. Bishop Dee Pederson gave a stirring message about how we have come full circle – having been founded and led by lay people in 1870 to 2025 being served by a Synod Authorized Minister, a lay person. But always leading people to the love of Jesus.
It was memorable to have former Pastor Gene Alms with us as he read the Scriptures of the day while he and Denise enjoyed visiting with members. Also, it was so gracious of Pastor Janet Adams, currently serving Trinity here in town to lead us in the Nicene Creed and Prayers of Intercession.
And we can’t forget the tasty meal prepared and served by Lynne Speckman and crew from Sweet Indeed. If anyone went home hungry it was their fault. Mya Hanson provided us with her usual beautiful piano work. And the confirmation kids, what an awesome group we have. From Kendra F. and Alayana C. handing out bulletins, Addison O. lighting the candles, Owen and Eli P. with Khloe J and Bentley B. ushering to the Rannow twins and Jaylyn S. helping serve the meal and bus tables – our world is in good hands if this is an indication of the future leaders.
I personally want to thank the committee that worked so diligently to make this such a memorable day.
Chairperson Mary Feder with Arlo, Barb and Bruce Nelson, Sherri and Randy Gustafson had planned this day perfectly. And so now we go to work as God’s people leading others to the love of Jesus.
